David Maruzzella
Writer, Editor, and Translator
David Maruzzella is a writer, editor, and translator based in Chicago.
He was educated at New York University, the École normale supérieure in Paris, and DePaul University from which he received his Ph.D. in Philosophy in 2021. From 2019–2024 Maruzzella worked at DePaul Art Museum (DPAM) where he managed the museum’s collection, exhibitions, and publications. Having worked on over twenty exhibitions at DPAM, his final project for the museum was curating the 2024 exhibition The Image Pool which featured artists Eugene Von Bruenchenhein, Mr. Imagination, Marva Lee Pitchford-Jolly, June Wayne, Derek Webster, and Joseph Yoakum. He is currently the publications manager for the design studio HOUR and is translating a book on philosophers Jean-Paul Sartre and Spinoza for Edinburgh University Press in addition to pursuing other writing, editorial, and translation projects.
